How do I change the password for an email account?
Login to the e-mail administration interface at: http://postmaster.purplecat.net, click "Email Accounts"
and select the Modify User button next to the user you want to modify.
User Account = the first half of your e-mail address (before the '@' symbol)
Domain = the second half of your e-mail address (after the '@' symbol)
Password = your password
Special Note: All passwords are not created equal. Your password is the key to your data, if guessed by a malicious person you may not be happy with the result.
Always use a good password, I. E. one that is easy to remember, a minimum of 10 characters, and with a few 'special characters' and/or numbers/upper case letters throw in for good measure.
A handy graphic that helps explain the reasoning behind this can be found here:
www.xkcd.com/936/
You can test the strength of your passwords online here:
www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/password-checker.aspx
or just google "password strength tester."
Remember to write down your new password and keep it in a safe place, or see if a password management utility like "last pass" is the right thing for you.
